The long overdue project that I have had in the back of my mind has finally seen daylight. This is it!
Many times the people pushing the boundaries in marketing techniques are the political communication wizards. This time is no different. The US presidential elections are around the corner and Hillary, Edwards, Obama are on a spending spree. Innovation in media is a
must and the price tag is not a problem.
This is all good news for the social media marketers in general (if one assumes that more innovative gimmicks are a good development), but also to the rest of us on the Old Continent trying to sell our ideas and messages about a better world to the voters and the consumers residing on this side of Atlantic.
It is not just Menlo Park boiling over the fist time since the bubble of 2001, but Helsinki, London, Tallinn, Amsterdam and many other European capitals are right there with the Silicon Valley kids. In the same fashion, if the US electorate is ready for the social media to play a part in the democratic process, I believe we are equally ready to welcome the social media campaigning in Europe.
I wanted to create this site to follow this very development. To be a point of reflection and a channel to tell the stories of the numerous new ideas and fresh winds which influence the social media marketing and PR campaigning.
In short, Tippingeurope blog attempts to capture the social media and PR marketing zeitgeist, and its many innovative applications in political communication to enable you to better reach your desired audience with your unique message and let them hear it loud and clear.
I do hope that you enjoy reading, listening and watching the posts as much as I enjoy compiling them. Equally, I hope that you find them useful in your own communication, whether business or pleasure, politics or non-profit.
Finally up and running!
